The 2018 Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kaptur are siblings released by the French-Japanese alliance. Both cars belong to the class of compact urban crossovers and are very popular in Russia. At the same time, the Japanese model belongs to a higher price category and is more successful with customers. Therefore, it is important to make a comparison of these machines to figure out which one to choose.

In terms of mass-dimensional characteristics, both cars are almost identical, with a slight advantage from Kashkai. The Japanese crossover has a length of 4377 mm, a width of 1837 mm, a height of 1595 mm. For the Frenchman, these parameters have the following values respectively: 4333 mm, 1813 mm and 1613 mm.

Externally, cars are similar, although the difference is certainly striking. Nissan Qashqai looks solid, original and stylish. It attracts spectacular optics, muscular lines of the wings, slightly littered with a roof. Spectacular touches of the design of the Japanese model are light alloy wheels and chrome edging glasses.

Nissan Qashqai or Renault Capture
Appearance Capture is somewhat simpler, although this crossover looks very good. It differs from the opponent by more smooth lines of the front part. The spectacular features of the Renault look are the elongated headlights, the enlarged air intake, as well as the C-shaped fog.

Nissan Qashqai is offered with two versions of gasoline engines engines. The first of them has a volume of 1.2 liters and develops power up to 115 horsepower. It provides acceleration to 100 km / h in 10.9 seconds and accelerates to 189 km / h. The average fuel consumption is 6.2 liters per 100 kilometers. Also installed on Qashqai is a 2.0-liter engine with 144 horsepower. Up to “hundreds” it accelerates in 9.9 seconds, and the maximum speed is 194 km / h. The average fuel consumption of this engine is 7.7 liters per 100 km. On the Nissan can be installed 6-speed manual and CVT variator X-tronic.

Renault Kaptur also offers two options for gasoline engines. The younger 1.6-liter engine develops a speed of 114 horsepower. It reaches a speed of up to 171 km / h, and accelerates to “hundreds” in 12.5 seconds. When this engine consumes an average of 7.4 liters of gasoline per 100 km. The second engine has a volume of 2.0 liters and a power of 143 horsepower. Acceleration to 100 km / h is achieved in 10.5 seconds, and the maximum speed is 185 km / h. Fuel consumption of this engine – an average of 8 liters per 100 km. On the Capture can be installed manual transmission on 5 and 6 gears, as well as 4-speed automatic transmission.

The decisive advantage of Qashqai is the presence of a 1.6-liter diesel engine, which gives up to 130 horsepower. It accelerates to 100 km / h in 11.1 seconds, which is an excellent result for a diesel engine. At the same time, the combined fuel consumption is only 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers.

The suspension of both models has a common layout. At the same time, it is possible to note more efficient and precise control of Qashqai.

When comparing the salons Nissan Qashqai and Renault Capture is clearly noticeable difference in the classes of these machines. Interior trim Japanese crossover looks richer and more interesting. Qashqai also shows itself well in terms of ergonomics. All controls are on hand and very functional. You can highlight a comfortable fit in the seats. The cabin is quite spacious, and for 5 people there is more than enough space.

Nissan Qashqai or Renault Capture
Renault interior is also all right, but it is more simply trimmed using cheaper materials. There will be less space in the backseat, although it’s impossible to say that there is too much space here.

Nissan Qashqai or Renault Capture
Prices and configuration Nissan Qashqai differ a great variety. Buyers are offered 13 different versions, and in terms of their equipment they all outperform a French competitor. In the basic configuration, the model boasts heated front seats, cruise control, an excellent audio system, a number of modern assistants. More expensive versions are equipped with climate control, parking sensors, a circular view system, all-round cameras and a number of other advanced systems. Separately, it is worth noting proprietary multimedia system Nissan Connect.

Both cars are excellent crossovers that will adequately show themselves on city streets and in country trips. Moreover, if you are willing to pay more, then, of course, it is better to choose a Nissan Qashqai. Despite the close kinship of these cars, the Japanese crossover is a higher level car. It is richer equipped, looks more impressive, has better dynamics. Also it should be noted the presence in its engine range of excellent diesel, which is absent from the competitor.
