Rolls-Royce from a meteorite and 4 more most interesting novelties of the Geneva Motor Show
We study what’s new in the automotive world, and choose an object for investment (urgently on a wish list!).
Rolls royce bespoke phantom
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presented a limited edition of 25 Phantom cars in Geneva. The luxury line is inspired by space – gold and fragments of a real meteorite are used in the decoration of cars. The speakers of the Bespoke Audio speaker system are gold-plated, which refers to the legendary NASA Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977. Each board was equipped with golden information plates with recordings of sounds and images describing the diversity of life and culture on Earth – a kind of message to representatives of alien civilizations.
The space theme is also revealed in the special details of the interior of Phantom Tranquility. The fragment of the Muonionalust meteorite, found in Sweden in 1906, is encrusted in a volume control controller, the coordinates and date of discovery of this find are engraved on it, and the edges are decorated with gold. The choice of interior colors – an allusion to the light and dark side of the moon.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire
The Bugatti brand presented the most expensive car in history in Geneva. The supercar, released in a single copy, has already been purchased by an anonymous buyer for 11 million euros. According to rumors, the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche became the owner of an exclusive novelty. A work of automotive art, called La Voiture Noire, was released on the 110th anniversary of Bugatti. Every detail of the car is made by craftsmen by hand.
Maserati Levante Trofeo
The Italian brand presented a limited edition Maserati Levante Trofeo – it includes only 100 cars. The main feature of the line is the possibility of customization: each client will be able to create a car to his own taste, using the proposed options for wood and metal panels, leather and other finishing materials.
At the Geneva Motor Show, Nissan presented the concept IMQ – the forerunner of the future Qashqai, which will appear in 2020. The car embodies advanced design and design – “Japanese heritage is combined with human-oriented technology.” Visually, the new concept looks as futuristic as possible – that’s how the cars of the future were represented in the 60s. Technology news no less innovative than the appearance. IMQ has a driver assistance system that is responsible for self-driving traffic. The three-dimensional interface is also implemented, in which the real world is combined with augmented reality, which will help drivers and passengers build alternative routes and see hidden objects. Also, a three-dimensional virtual avatar is built into the system, which, if desired, the driver can keep him company on a trip.
Volkswagen I.D. Buggy
Volkswagen presented one of the funniest car dealership innovations – the beach buggy concept. Electric car with a nostalgic design and life-affirming green color is devoid of doors and a roof, but it is decorated with waterproof materials. The concept is a modern interpretation of the models of the 1960–80s, which were created on the basis of the famous Volkswagen Beetle. Double body, if desired, can not only expand to four seats, but also completely remove and put in its place another body.
