How do you buy a car?
I often, and at lectures at school, and when I do driving lessons, ask about how to buy a car, what kind of car to buy. How to go, by what way: take a used, old, for a start, or buy a completely new car? How to be with him? What to do in this situation? But I want to postpone a conversation specifically on this topic a little later, but to begin with, to say a few replicas, literally concerning my observations, how people, for whatever reasons, on what grounds, buy a car. To be honest, you may already feel some kind of irony in my words, a readiness to smile, or maybe even laugh. Why? Because in fact for me it looks that way, and not otherwise.
By what criteria people choose a car? Well, probably, any normal and reasonable person first answers the question “why do I need this car?”, I.e. “That I am going to transport it, who I am going to transport on it, where I am going to go on it and with what cargo.” This is the first question that people who buy a car must answer. The second question, to which they must answer adequately, quickly and immediately, is the question of the price of this car. Accordingly, a person then begins to determine the brand of the car (with the manufacturer, a certain brand), therefore, according to these parameters, several names of car brands are poured out, among which he begins to look for what he really needs.
But the whole paradox is that, in fact, as car manufacturers and car dealers who distribute advertisements in the automotive market in our country, to the nearest millimeter, they mislead you all. Why? Because everything that is advertised has absolutely no basis, and everything that is advertised and pronounced aloud can now be challenged without much difficulty, and this will be absolutely adequate.
Let’s reason. Pay attention to what begins any advertising that you first advertise? And when you take a closer look, you will realize that all the buyers in our country, the sellers (or dealers), have long been retrained, and have withdrawn our mind and our view from the most basic, and moved the main point of view to some kind of nonsense. Please note that everything that is advertised about the car, always begins with too much.
I will now explain what is superfluous. When you carefully look at the advertisement, then it will always be about comfort, additional options, heated ass, heated mirrors, beautiful drives – a lot more. In short, this is not about the car, but about its additional electrical functions, and no more. I will now try to further characterize all this together, as far as all this is really necessary. But now I will try to say a few words here at once, let’s say, I will voice topics for conversation and for conversation.
The second theme, which simply drives me into complete shock, is not the one from which I would die on the spot, but a shock that looks more like an ironic psychosis. When I see ads and when I hear ads about all-wheel drive cars. In general, this is a complete absurdity, in fact. I must emphasize that as an engineer, from the point of view of engineering a car, I want to tell you at once — where you see an advertisement for an all-wheel drive car, you should know right away: it is technically impossible to make an all-wheel drive car as such. Of course, it can be done, but it will already be a tank, a real tank, tracked, as it should be – here there really will be an all-wheel drive, and there can be no talk about it. Four-wheel drive to do on the two axes of the car is not possible. Because automobile bridges are designed in such a way that they cannot transfer thrust simultaneously to four wheels at once. They can be transferred only to one wheel. At the same time – only for one thing. And we call an all-wheel drive car that we have a transfer of thrust to one of the wheels on each axle, and no more.
And think about what word we are satisfied with when they say “all-wheel drive.” This can not be done, technically impossible. Although I have to clarify – this can be done technically, but for a very short time, in order to get out of some very short difficulty — mud, deep snow, virgin snow, etc., etc. But at the same time, with all that, you should never turn the steering wheel under any circumstances. As soon as you do this, you will immediately sever the entire transmission.
